Frames of Reference at the Gallery at R&F Handmade Paints
This exhibit of encaustic works follows Ms. Haggard’s visual development of the last six years. Works on exhibit include her wall sculptures—rugged, off- rectangular solids—that evolve into rusticated, gridded paintings in high relief. These paintings on panels become increasingly wedded to light and indeterminate space within their grids. More recently, Ms. Haggard has firmed her geometry, flattened her color, made reference to folded form, and added subtle works on paper. Ms. Haggard is a nationally exhibited artist from the Greater Boston area. She earned a BFA from Philadelphia College of Art, now the University of the Arts. Gallery at R&F Exhibit: August 1, October 17, 2015 The Gallery at R&F promotes contemporary uses of oil paint and encaustic. The Gallery is housed in R&F Handmade Paints, 84 Ten Broeck Avenue, in Mid-town, Kingston, NY 12401. |
